It wasn't until my son was born that I realized how great it would be if I could stop time. Moments come and go so quickly. When our son was welcomed to the world I had been teaching upper elementary for 9 years. Holidays and summers off. What a perfect job for mommies, right? Wrong! Not for this mommy. I taught 1 more year and came to the realization that my role as teacher must cease in order to fulfill my call to motherhood.
My interest in photography, but lack of professional training has always amounted to "playing" with the camera. I have trained myself through books, research, and the wisdom of others (mainly my wonderful hubbie). Because of my newly acquired time at home I have made the decision to allow myself a hobby. A hobby I pray becomes very successful.
I love to find the "natural" in the people I photograph. In my opinion, the perfect picture is the one that captures a person being him or herself. Sometimes that means we find a position, count, and snap the shot and other times I snap the shot and you may or may not have even noticed. My focus is on using natural light to illuminate the beauty in my subject(s), but I would love to have a small indoor studio. I'd like to say it's in the works, but in reality it's more like..."in my dreams".
Within these pictures is my story of becoming 3:5studios.
